Okay, 2013 has ended, and I’ve been a terrible blogger.
I think about it all the time – “That would make a great blog entry”, “I have to remember to review that for my blog”, “Yay! Zombies! Blog!” – yet I can’t seem to find the time or energy to actually sit my butt down and write.
Well, I have to admit that I do have the time…I just find other things to fill it up with.
I boot up the laptop and sit down with my tea, my fuzzy slippers and a cat and start to make notes and then kind of wander off to put together jigsaw puzzles at Jigidi…or read articles at io9…or make snowflakes at Snow Days…you get the picture.
Or I’ll realize that I really need to sort socks. Or brush my teeth. Or trim the cats’ claws.
You know. Anything other than face that blank post.
But it’s a new year.
I don’t make Resolutions, because it’s just too damn depressing when you break them. Or, I’d make one, then resolve to break it as soon as possible to get it out of the way. (That one always works.) But I’m going to make a New Year’s Resolution this year to actually spend some time on my blog, because I did go to the all the time and effort to set up the damn thing, and I’ve wrestled with the templates because I was using free ones from WordPress and they don’t offer support on the freebies, and I sometimes do have things to say. Or I find cool pictures. Or I stumble across something important. (Not that my blog will change the world – when only three or four people read it, the chances are pretty slim that I’ll even nudge it a little.) But that’s not the point.
It’s my blog, goddammit, and I’m gonna use it.
Maybe in another year or two I’ll actually use my Twitter and Pinterest accounts.
Stay tuned. Maybe. If you feel like it. I don’t want to push.
Bring it on, baby.
